Meditate
I will meditate or create a moment of silence for 10 minutes each day to reflect on things important to me.
Simplicity
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a walk each day.
Energy
Calculate My Digital Carbon Footprint
I will calculate my digital carbon footprint and take steps to reduce my CO2 emissions.
Transportation
Choose a Carbon Offset
Flying emits a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere which affects air quality and the health of our planet, animals, and people. If buying a plane ticket, I will also buy a carbon offset.

Improve a Bus Stop
I will improve a bus stop in my neighborhood by posting the stop schedule, adding seating or shelter, adding art or flowers, picking up litter, or some other small improvement.

Research My Investment Portfolio
I will find out what stocks and bonds are in my investment account portfolio to determine if they align with my values (e.g. environmental, social responsibility, community).
Nature
Leave No Trace
I will practice the seven principles of Leave No Trace when doing nature activities alone or with family and friends.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Aaron Garner 10/04/2024 10:50 AMTaking walks with my dog helps keep me grounded and allows us to spend time together, which helps with her anxiety. She's a rescue dog from the streets. It also allows me to see and meet other folks in the community. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureEducator Stephanie Kaza advises her students to focus on what they care about most when addressing the enormity of ecological problems. Is there a specific area you feel particularly called to work on?
Aaron Garner 10/04/2024 10:48 AMI care about making a world / future where we have moved to sustainable energy sources, and the technology we use is sourced more sustainably and more ethically. That's why I am an Electronics Engineer with a focus in Renewables.-
Jeanne Poirier 10/04/2024 8:11 PMThank you and bless you in your learnings and efforts in this direly needed direction!! (Your other post makes me miss my walks with my grand-dog - I need to get on it before winter comes!)
