How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

Creativity is a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity because to live a life rooted in simplicity, one must think outside the box to detach from society's pressure to consume more and waste. It is so easy to fall in line with overconsumption nowadays, it is advertised everywhere.

Something that I never thought much of was how I use natural ways to cool and heat my living space. I almost never turn on the A/C unless I am absolutely in need (I also grew up in a very warm environment and have a higher heat tolerance), but am also lucky that trees shade my living space and I have great curtains to insulate the windows. I open my windows on warm evenings to let cool air in, and in colder seasons I make sure to insulate cracks under the doorway to reduce drafts.
