REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow is equality for trans, femme, and nonbinary people important to a just and sustainable society?
Louisa Lubiak 10/31/2024 5:51 AMMy office's headquarters building is converting one set of men's and women's restrooms into gender-inclusive restrooms. Creating gender inclusive bathrooms is not just about physical spaces; it’s about recognizing and validating the identities of all individuals. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWho inspired you on the feed?
Louisa Lubiak 10/31/2024 5:48 AMReading my team members' posts on the Ecochallenge feed provided me with insight and inspiration! A big THANK YOU to everyone who posted their uplifting and encouraging comments on the feed! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureKathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
Louisa Lubiak 10/26/2024 11:24 AMCultivate a sense of gratitude for Earth by spending time outside in nature by gardening, taking walks & observing the plants & animals around us. Add these kinds of activities to school curriculum to encourage youngsters to feel a part of nature & not feel apart from nature. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Louisa Lubiak 10/16/2024 6:48 AMMy mother raised me to be a scavenger. When my neighbors put good stuff out on the curb that is up-for-grabs I always look at it and often take stuff. Now, when I take stuff, I bring it to my office's annual FreeCycle events and give it away to others.-
Kerry Keck 10/16/2024 12:20 PMMy housemate & I have found this a useful activity on our walks just in advance of the city’s “heavy trash” pickup day (every other month). We have acquired a reading chair, a small bookshelf (it needed just replacement pegs for the shelf, which were made using an $0.87 dowel from our local Home Depot), a small cabinet, a small coffee table, a child sized folding table I use to germinate seeds, and a set of mini-blinds that I cut into hundreds of small plant tags for the native plants I grow and share. -
Karen Flanigan 10/16/2024 7:58 AMI'm in a field office, but we have an informal FreeCycle going in the breakroom at Arctic Parkway.
