Waste

Snack Time!

Action is to recycle candy and snack wrappers at collection bins in kitchens on 1, 2, and 3rd floors. I am choosing this action to bring awareness to unnecessary waste and challenge staff to do this daily as this call to action incorporates us to do the walk on the BRI Facilities Sustainability Road Map and have some daily exercise in the work place as well!

Health of plant life in my control. Last year removed weed blankets (apparently made with plastics), replaced with wood chips, cardboard (labels & tape removed), planted more fruit-bearing trees and clover to better cover the ground and maintain moisture.

Your action may also improve the soil, supporting the mycorrhizal population. These organisms improve soil chemistry, support plant health, and can even break down certain types of pollutants. Good job!
